Practical skills for real influence
True Success Skills turns every chapter of Twenty-Something Ideas into short principles and interactive challenges you can use immediately.
Thought of the day
One small awareness practice. That’s enough.
Start with a challenge
Pick a real situation and practice the better response.
The Principles
Drawn from every chapter of Twenty-Something Ideas (Thought + Creative Thought merged; Comfort + Discomfort merged; Love and Reciprocity renamed Love without Expectation).
Challenges
Practice real situations with decision points and better language.
Blind spots
Thinking and habits that quietly undercut the results you want—and what to do instead.
Tools
Clarity shows up in the sentence you can actually speak.
Empathic listening — 4 levels
Reflection is not agreement. Hear them before you fix, defend, or advise. Understanding shows up when you can say their point accurately.
- Mimic — repeat a key word or phrase
- Rephrase content — say what happened in your words
- Reflect feeling — name the emotion
- Content + feeling — “You’re ___ because ___.”
Then: “Did I get that right?” — only after that, problem-solve.
Defining the root of the problem
This is a guided sequence of questions so they (or you) talk until the real problem is stated in plain words—not the surface problem you began with. Don’t stop at the first answer. Keep asking what’s underneath until you reach a root you can fix—and have them say it out loud.
Ask Randy
Describe a real personal or relationship situation. Guidance uses True Success Skills principles — awareness, ownership, clean communication, and productive discomfort.

Thought of the day
Write it the way you’d say it out loud. Understanding sticks when you hear yourself say the words.
